It can be used to reduce swelling caused by an injury or as a result of another condition. It is also suitable for providing heat to aching joints and painful soft tissue injuries, offering effective pain relief when it is needed most.

How to Use the Pack for Cold Therapy

Cold therapy, or cryotherapy, is a well-known approach to relieving pain and reducing swelling. If you suffer from a condition that causes swelling of the limbs, or if you've taken a nasty fall and have suffered from an unexpected injury, the cold pack can help to reduce this swelling and minimise associated pain.

The cold pack can be stored in the freezer before use, and then wrapped in a cloth or protective sleeve before applying to the affected area. The cold pack should be used for short intervals of no longer than twenty minutes to help prevent against any further harm to the area.

How to Use the Pack for Heat Therapy

Unlike cold therapy, which cools down swollen limbs, heat therapy is ideal for encouraging blood flow to the injured area to reduce pain and quicken the rate of healing. This will be particularly useful if you suffer from an injury and need to minimise the pain as quickly and as effectively as possible.

The hot pack can be placed in the microwave at a designated temperature for around twenty seconds, then wrapped in a cloth or protective sleeve before use. As with cold therapy, the pack should be applied to the skin for short intervals only to ensure that the skin does not become burnt.

A professional 440 litre pharmacy refrigerator powered by our unique IntelliCold® touch screen controller, designed from the ground up for the safe storage of cold chain medicines.

It features a 1.6-metre secondary (wandering) temperature probe that can be placed anywhere inside the pharmacy fridge and it features a NEW touch screen controller which is completely flat so can be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected as there are no raised buttons to collect dirt and germs. The controller displays, alarms and records minimum and maximum temperatures for both temperature probes. Like a mobile phone touch screen, it locks after 30 seconds to ensure that buttons can’t be activated accidentally.

We can also provide a calibration certificate for your pharmacy refrigerator from our in house UKAS calibration laboratory No: 8898 as an optional extra.
