How Does the Therawave 1000 Provide Pressure Relief?

The Therawave 1000 Mattress Overlay, also known as the Mayflex Therawave 1000 Mattress Overlay, incorporates special AeroVent cells, which release controlled air to gently alternate and conform to your body's shape and size. These cells therefore help to prevent skin breakdown and maceration when the mattress overlay is used on top of an existing mattress or underlay.

Dynamic Therapy technology provides a massaging action to stimulate blood flow and oxygenation, which helps to prevent ulcer development. With a multi-stretch PU cover to reduce shear and friction, and soft air flow to help reduce skin breakdown caused by moisture build-up, this overlay helps to reduce pressure, skin breakdown, maceration, shear, and friction.

Who Can Use the Therawave 1000 Pressure Relief Mattress Overlay?

The Therawave 1000 Mattress Overlay is suitable for individuals at medium to high risk of pressure sore development. It can be used as a mattress overlay for the treatment and prevention of pressure ulcers Stage I to III.

Please note that the Therawave 1000 Mattress Overlay is not suitable for individuals with spinal pathologies (unstable spinal injuries) and long bone traction.

How Easy Is It to Use and Operate the Therawave 1000 Overlay?

The Therawave 1000 Pressure Relief Overlay is straightforward to set up and operate. The controls are clear and simple, ensuring that the right pressure relief can be received with minimal effort.

Simply connect the pump to the mattress, then plug the pump power cable into the mains outlet. After ensuring the CPR valve is closed, adjust the comfort control dial and inflate the cells. No Riding Up

Together with the MiniLift, the ThoraxSling provides a very gentle and smooth sit-to-stand experience for users. The movement of the lift arm is designed so that the pulling motion ends comfortably in the lower back, which prevents the sling from riding up under the arms.

Care Instructions for the ThoraxSling

The ThoraxSling Patient Lifting Sling is made from low-friction polyester that can be machine washed at 60 - 85°C. Do not use rinsing agent. To ensure maximum service life of your sling, hang dry or tumble-dry on a low heat.

Care Instructions for the Wipeable ThoraxSling

The ThoraxSling Wipeable Lifting Sling is made from nylon that can be wiped clean using ethanol (alcohol). Concentration must not exceed one part ethanol to three parts water. Other similar surface disinfectants may also be used.
