They are safe for patient use as they contain no mercury or glass, and include a last temperature memory. They can be used orally, underarm or rectally and are safe for all ages. Digital thermometers can be disinfected or covered with snug fitting probe covers. Batteries are replaceable and the devices include a low battery warning.
